How long can I expect to come to therapy?
Unfortunately, there is no definitive answer to this question. Depending on your path and ultimate goals, sometimes a few sessions are adequate. For others, it might take longer. This is something that we can discuss during your assessment and will remain an ongoing conversation. There are often times that things will arise as you enter therapy and begin to do ‘the work’ that aligns with healing. We can work together to assess the importance of these things as they arise while being mindful of your health, time and finances.
What if I do not feel a connection?
My overall approach towards therapy in general, is the process of bringing you into a safe place of acceptance. With that said, there will be times when we might not be an appropriate fit. That is okay and I am always glad to assist you in locating a person who might be more appropriate to navigate your journey with you.
Which is better for me, virtual or in-person counseling
Virtual counseling is always a viable option for those who may face challenges to accessing my office, whether this be time, physical constraints, or otherwise. While I find that in-person therapy fosters a better sense of connection, I will remain flexible in meeting your needs. This remains a hallmark of my overall approach.
